Tales from the Road: Savannah, Georgia ~ Day One

#vacation time! #Asheville #NC here we come! #camping #motorhome #RV #wolfdog photo 994333_1427660904120366_2080968441_n.jpg

We got up bright & early yesterday (4 am, a little bit too early!), started running last minute errands and packing up the RV.  We were on the road a little past 9, headed north!

All was going well, then about 40 minutes south of Savannah, boom! The tow dolly tire blew out.  Thank goodness Chip had a spare and was able to change it out, but he wasn’t comfortable loading the car back on the dolly, so I drove the car the last leg of the trip.

No big deal, despite a little delay we arrived safe & sound at Skidaway Island State Park. I really enjoy this park as the campsites are set up nicely, good distance between them, and staggered so that you’re not directly in front of your neighbor.  We’re parked right in front of a little cabin, giving me ideas about a family vacation in the future. I’d love to have the kids all meet us here, rent a cabin for them and maybe Dad and Kathye could even join us in their RV!

Anyway, we got all set up and then headed out to dinner.  Now, vegan options are not abundant in this Southern town, but thanks to Happy Cow I was able to scope out a few, including this restaurant, Pad Thai.

The décor was lovely, the service excellent, food was very good and presented in such a pretty fashion.

We were home and asleep before 10 pm, got a good night’s rest and are ready for what today holds!

Have a wonderful day,
